2-Do I/My kid have to spar?"
1- YES. Most of our new clients have no former training in Boxing or any other form of Martial Arts. We will teach you or your kid all the basics and the fundementals from the ground up.
2-No one is allowed to spar without first learning the fundementals of any form of Martial Arts and drilling offense/defense tactics.

If you are looking for a place that will help your kid's athletic needs and develop their physical strength, speed and agility then you have come to the right place. Our kids' programs are all about building the young ones physically, mentally and emotionally. We pride ourselves in our unique teaching methods that help chidren develop better discipline and stronger bodies. Shraim's Academy is more than just boxing, it is the pioneer fitness gym in NJ that focuses on children's physical and mental development.
If you have been thinking about it for a while and just not sure if group training is the place to start, then maybe you should consider private training! We can set up a program to suit your fitness level and gradually condition you into advanced ones! At Shraim's Academy we offer great private training programs that no other gym can offer. We use our experience in Western Boxing, Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu martial arts to offer an extremely challenging training session by utilizing the hard conditioning exercises that fighters use to get in a superior condition, without the need to learn how to fight unless there is a desire to do so. And, in that case, we will design a program that offers the best of both worlds!

The younger they start, the better it is for their future. Young children get to learn the disciplines, hard work, athleticism, and self confidence that boxing has to offer early on in life. Becoming a boxer guarantees better times at the sandbox.
10-14 year olds

This program is built to suit every interest! Whether you are looking to
get in shape, learn the art of boxing or to compete, This program is the perfect fit . No member is ever forced to fight to spar in the ring unless they wish to do so and they reach a satisfactory level of boxing skills.

The art of eight limbs is the most effictive form of stand-up fighting in the cage and on the street. In these classes students learn how to use their fists, elbows, knees and shins as weapons against their opponenets.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Do you have beginner only boxing classes or do all levels train together?
We have beginners to more experienced members in all of our classes, training together. As a beginner you learn all of the basics of boxing and gradually start doing drills. All members work together to help beginners feel comfortable as they learn.
2. Do I need any previous experience in Boxing, Muay Thai, or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in order to take classes at Shraim's Academy?
No prior experience or athletic background is needed to join us at Shraim's Academy. We will teach you all of the skills you need from the ground up.
3. Do I need to wait until the beginning of a new month to start?
You can start any time. Our classes are set up so that a beginner can come in and begin right away in any of the classes that we offer.
4. What type of equipment do I need?
Boxing classes require a pair of gloves and hand wraps which can be purchased at our gym on your first visit.
Muay Thai classes require shin guards which can be purchased online. Boxing gloves and mouthpieces will also be required.
For Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes GIs can be purchased online, but are not required at the start of the class.
5. My child is being bullied. Can they learn the confidence to stand up for themselves by taking boxing classes?
The youth boxing program is designed to help kids become stronger, faster, and learn to fight. It will provide them with the skills needed to overcome their adversaries.
6. I would like to learn how to box (fight), but I am afraid of getting hurt.
At Shraim's Academy our focus is on two goals. The first goal is extreme conditioning and the second focuses on learning the skills and techniques of Boxing, Muay Thai, and/or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We will never force our students to get into the ring or participate in all out sparring unless they want to or until we think they are ready to. However, as with any sport or physical training, there is always a risk of injury involved.
7. Do you have an open gym mebership? Can I come anytime I want?
At this time all of our classes are based on semi-private group training under a trainer for a fraction of the cost of private training. Our unique program does not involve running on a treadmill or lifting heavy weights. Adults boxing for fitness classes focus on fast paced cardio that will keep you on your toes, core training, free weight training, and of course fighting drills to gain physical benefits all around without the boredom of a typical gym.
At Shraim's Academy we focus our efforts on extreme conditioning and skill development. Whether you are just looking to get in shape or wanting to learn the great arts of Boxing, Muay Thai or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, we will help you achieve your goals and go the distance.
We offer programs for kids and adults, boys and girls of almost all ages. We welcome children as young as 5 years old. We teach them discipline, how to defend themselves against Bullies and turn them into great athletes.
